Starpatch STPSPP – 20 lb. Slab & Panel Patching Mortar

Starpatch STPSPP is a versatile rapid-set patching mortar engineered for both interior and exterior applications on horizontal and vertical surfaces. This water-activated compound achieves a smooth, workable consistency ideal for addressing structural imperfections including spalls, gouges, cracks, dents, chips, bug holes, honeycombs, and offset joints. Its feather-edge capability makes it equally effective for precision skim coating applications. Application:

Slab & Panel Patch is easily installed using a steel trowel. Slab and Panel Patch can be installed from true feather edge to ½” over large areas. In confined spaces (such as bug holes), Slab and Panel Patch can be installed to any depth. Use sufficient pressure to fill in surface defects. Minor touch-up work can be done using a rubber float or dampened sponge once the surface has started to harden.

Surface Preparation:

All surfaces must be solid, structurally sound, and completely cleaned. Remove all loose material, waxes, form oil, sealers, paint, dust, dirt, and any other foreign materials. Do not apply bonding agent or wet the wall prior to application.

Mixing Instructions:

Each 9.08-KG (20 lb) box requires 3.6 Litres (4 quarts) of water (do not add liquid bonding agent). Larger quantities can be mixed using a paddle mixer; smaller quantities can be mixed by hand and should be mixed until the entire mix is smooth and creamy. Always use a clean mixing container and always place water into the container before adding the powder. Using a mechanical mixer will produce a smoother, creamier mix.

Recommended Tools:

Clean mixing container, clean water, margin trowel, steel trowel, rubber float, sponge, and measuring containers for mixing smaller quantities. For mechanical mixing, use a concrete mixing paddle and a ½” heavy-duty drill.

Drying:

From 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on the thickness of the patch and weather conditions. Slab & Panel Patch does not require special curing. Thickness of application, as well as temperature and humidity, greatly affect dry times. Feather edge applications can be dry in as little as 15 minutes and ready for coatings and adhesives. Deeper patches can take several hours to completely dry.
